Tomorrow morning she will be going to have two fillings done on her teeth. She has had an ongoing issue with tooth decay for the past many months; we aren't sure why, as she has an excellent diet and good oral hygiene, but sometimes these things happen as a result of several different factors. Anyway, the decay has stopped completely after we've been treating it in various ways for the past eight months, but two of her teeth suffered enough loss that she needs these fillings done. Since she is so young, she is not exactly cooperative when the dentist tries to poke and prod in there, so they will be giving her a mild sedative. If it doesn't work to calm her sufficiently, we'll have to reschedule and use the sedative in combination with another drug, which is more dangerous. So I would very much appreciate prayers that the drug she will take tomorrow will have the desired effect, that she will be safe, and that the procedure will go well so that we don't have to go in a second time.
Update on Evelyn: The Demerol did nothing to calm her--it was as if she'd just taken a little drink of water. Crazy kid! They couldn't do the procedure. So the plan is now to wait until September and reevaluate at that time. Thanks, everyone, for your prayers.
