    Ahhh.. fishing!

There are few other endeavors besides fishing where a man can find complete peace and serenity while taking on the challenge of catching the one that will lead to a great story! Father Crenshaw, John Fancher, BJ Mack, and Geoffrey Mabry set out to do just this on July 7, 2006. And the day indeed led to great stories of some great chatches! Father Crenshaw decided to test his theory that the psychedelic color of the lure was not half as important as the pattern of his shirt, and it looks like his theory might have some merit!

Meanwhile, recent high school graduate and Eagle Scout BJ Mack stuck to the rulebook,  and he earned himself quite a catch (and maybe even a bonus badge!).

But Geoffrey Mabry, his ideas were a little more ambitious. Why catch a fish when you can catch a steak?  Here he is readying his line for a long cast to the other side of the water where the Angus graze. Will it work?

Reaching New Heights in summer fun!

The Chapman home was completely packed inside and out this year for the Second Annual St. Francis Pool Party. The pool was frothing with kids at play. The adults feasted on hot dogs and hamburgers and chatted about all manner of topics. There are many new members this year, and this was an excellent opportunity to get to knew the newest additions of our church family!

One of our new families, the Jonses, pulled out their rock salt and whipped up some fabulous home made ice cream that everyone enjoyed. If you have a chance, ask Greg Chapman if he liked the ice cream. He will let you know exactly how teriffic it was. Eric Mabry, one of our college students, got in some great theological discussions before his departure back to college the following day. While lots of people enjoyed the warm summer evening, many elected to gather 'round the dining room table in air-conditioned comfort.

The food was delicious! The conversation was engaging! And, as usual, there were a few who chose to be highly entertaining! But a dilemma aroseas a result of all this mirth: Where can we hold the party next year? We will undoubtedly not all fit in one house next summer!
